Description

Arlon Series 5500 Diffuser Film is a premium white vinyl solution engineered for second-surface applications in internally illuminated signage. This non-perforated, gloss-finish film excels at uniform light control and diffusion, available in two transmission levels: #30 (30%) for moderate diffusion and #70 (60%) for higher light passage, effectively hiding light sources while maintaining vibrant visibility. Crafted from a durable 75-micron (0.0034-inch or 0.09 mm) calendered PVC face film with a permanent clear pressure-sensitive adhesive and clay-coated release liner, it offers exceptional long-term adhesion (≥60 oz/in or 0.67 kg/cm peel adhesion) and pliability for easy application on clean substrates at 60°F to 90°F (15°C to 32°C). Key physical properties include tensile strength of 4.5 lb/in (0.8 kg/cm), elongation ≥150%, and dimensional stability of 0.015 in (0.4 mm) after 48 hours at 158°F (70°C). Rated for 7-year outdoor durability, it withstands service temperatures from -40°F to 200°F (-40°C to 93°C), 100% humidity for 500 hours with no appreciable effect, and features a 2-year shelf life.
