The 3M Scotchcal Gloss Overlaminate 8520 is a premium cast vinyl film designed for long-term protection of graphic prints in signage, vehicle wraps, and visual communications applications. With a durable 2 mil (50 micron) thickness and clear pressure-sensitive permanent solvent acrylic adhesive, it conforms exceptionally well to flat surfaces, rivets, simple and compound curves, corrugations, and flexible substrates, ensuring reliable performance indoors or outdoors. Key features include a gloss finish for enhanced vibrancy and readability, resistance to mild alkalis, acids, salt, water, and occasional fuel spills, plus excellent cleanability against scuffs. It supports imaging methods such as solvent/eco-solvent inkjet, UV, latex, and aqueous, with a layflat polyester or kraft paper liner for easy handling. Application temperature ranges from 60°F to 100°F (15°C to 38°C), and in-use service temperature spans -65°F to 200°F (-54°C to 93°C). Maximum durability reaches up to 8 years vertically, making it ideal for fleet vehicles, transit, labels, smooth walls, watercraft, and thermoformable graphics.
