The 3M Scotchcal Luster Overlaminate 8519 is a premium 2-mil cast vinyl film designed to provide long-term protection and enhancement for digitally printed graphics in signage, vehicle wraps, and visual communications applications. Featuring a clear permanent solvent acrylic adhesive on a kraft paper liner, this highly conformable overlaminate offers a luster (satin semi-gloss) finish that delivers a balanced aesthetic between gloss and matte, reducing glare while maintaining image vibrancy. Key specifications include a film thickness of 2 mils, application temperature range of 50°F to 100°F, and service temperature from -65°F to 200°F. It exhibits excellent resistance to mild alkalis, acids, salt, water, and occasional fuel vapors, with an expected outdoor durability of up to 8 years on flat vertical surfaces. Its superior stretch and conformability make it ideal for complex curves, rivets, corrugations, deep channels, and fleet graphics, including vehicles, watercraft, transit, labels, thermoformable signs, and smooth walls. Compatible with select 3M films such as IJ180Cv3, IJ680CR, and IJ5100R, this industry-standard overlaminate ensures UV screening, physical abrasion resistance, and print protection for interior/exterior use. Available in rolls from 30 to 60 inches wide by 50 to 100 yards long, it supports cold lamination, computer cutting, steel rule die, and thermal die processes, with a 3-year shelf life.
