Description

The 3M™ Envision™ Matte Wrap Overlaminate 8550M is a high-performance, non-PVC protective film designed for professional graphics applications. This 2-mil matte overlaminate provides long-term durability with a 9-year expected performance life on vertical outdoor surfaces and offers horizontal warranty coverage for vehicle wraps. The product features excellent conformability for complex application surfaces including flat, corrugated, simple curves, compound curves, and deep channels. Its matte finish minimizes glare and reflection from lighting and sunshine while reducing gloss banding on textured surfaces. The film stretches up to 150% without primer or lift, making installation efficient on diverse substrates. Key specifications include a kraft paper liner, clear solvent-based acrylic adhesive, and lamination temperature range of 50-100°F. The in-use temperature range spans -65 to +200°F. Chemical resistance includes mild alkalis, mild acids, salt, and excellent water resistance, though it does not resist isopropyl alcohol. Applications encompass vehicle wraps, fleet graphics, watercraft, transit signage, awnings, textured and smooth walls, and floor graphics where it provides UL 410 slip-resistant certification.
